Thank you for your interest in the Hidden Gems community.
Hidden Gems is a supportive space where members collaborate meaningfully with one another by supporting educators, experimenting with writing, learning new techniques, and sharing ideas. While our primary focus is on educators, we celebrate artfulness in many forms. Hidden Gems welcomes artists, writers, creators, and others who are seeking a positive community environment.
Because communities are built upon trust, we have three simple rules here that are posted below for your review. Violating these rules and expectations may result in your removal from our community.
- If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. That does not mean you shouldn’t provide guidance and suggestions when appropriate, but remember that an actual human is on the other side of the screen, even if you can’t see them. Frame your guidance in a way that supports their needs. If you feel the need to be mean, cruel, or hurtful, Hidden Gems is not for you.
- Treat others the way you would like to be treated. This relates to Rule #1 above, but also relates to the way you treat the content shared on this site. No stealing, no unethical usage of others’ ideas, and be sure to give credit where credit is due whenever possible.
- The community spaces are for the sharing of ideas, not products. If you are an active member who has a blog or a website where you sell products, you are welcome to include links to your blog or website, but Hidden Gems who click on your site should always be offered something meaningful in exchange without cost. While it is fine to link to a blog or website that provides good information and also happens to include a “for purchase” link embedded on the site, there should be no expectation that our members must spend money with you to access the content you originally promoted.
